VASCULAR PROBLEMS

Holland Skin & Vein Center treats varicose veins, spider vessels of the legs and face as well as birthmarks, cherry hemangiomas, and arteriovenous malformations. We use both sclerotherapy and two different types of lasers.

One laser is used specifically for the deeper vessels such as spider vessels in the legs, while the other laser is used for the treatment of the tiny vessels in the face, nose, ears, and chin. These lasers use different, but exact wave lengths of light that are directly absorbed into the vessel itself. This immediately seals the vessel shut.

Sclerotherapy is when special medication is injected into unwanted vessels and capillaries. It is very effective, well tolerated, and impressively safe.

The success of sclerotherapy and laser treatments is impressively high. Injury to the skin is uncommon and tenderness minimal. Years of experience have allowed us to make these procedures easily tolerated. Since we are one of the few places that do both laser and sclerotherapy we do not have to limit ourselves to only one treatment modality. We can give you the treatment that best meets your needs. We often use them in combination to achieve an even higher level of success.
